Any student may choose to be involved in any of the 3 annual productions whether they are enrolled in a Theatre class or not. The typical season follows the pattern of a straight play in the fall, a musical in the spring, and a children's show to close out the school year.

There are many ways to be involved. A student may sign up to participate in any of the categories below.

On stage roles require an audition. The dates and times are posted on school media throughout the year. Sign ups for the other categories are also posted in many places. Please contact Tori Scoles if you are looking for more information. 

The International Thespians Society is a worldwide organization.  Their mission is to build a global community of creative problem-solvers, effective collaborators, and empathetic individuals through theatre. Tigard High school has a thriving troupe with a board of officers dedicated to enhancing the world through theatre. The board is selected by student vote and includes:

Any student may inducted into the society through their involvement in theatre. There is a minimum of 100 hours involvement in any facet of theatre to be inducted. This troupe supports the work of the Tigard High School Theatre Department and are also involved in events of their own to encourage community through theatre. Students may participate in Festival Competitions at Regional, State, National, and International levels.

Parent involvement in the theatre department is highly encouraged. 

Students involved in the Productions or Thespians will have a significant commitment to a team that depends on them. Encourage your student to keep up to date with communications through the Google Classroom. 

In addition, there are a couple of ways to get information about what is going on in the department. Parent involvement in the theatre department is highly encouraged.
